Wow, what a great summer! Almost up to 4000 hits - woot woot!!!! Thank you!
I’ve noticed a few people have been having troubles logging in and remembering their passwords/usernsames. Here are just a few tips that may help.
- Your username is case sensitive. Yea I agree that’s a bit fussy but that’s how the engine that runs this site works.
- If you didn’t already assume so, your password is case sensitive as well.
- We only ask for your email address so you can retrieve lost passwords. If you really don’t want to share this info, feel free to use a fake one. We don’t check, we don’t care.
- Once you sign up you can choose a NICKNAME. This is different from your user name. The nickname is what will show up when you post comments and articles.
- Many of you have multiple sims and would prefer to keep your identities on the down-low. Feel free to create multiple accounts here!
- So why do we have a registration process anyhow? Simple, to have a fighting chance at keeping this blog spam-free and to somewhat dissuade impostors from posting messages. (Perhaps another use of the email address).
- Always feel free to send me your thoughts and suggestions on making this site better!

I’ve had a few people concerned that they would have difficulties in learning how to post an article as well as questions about how the various cities are represented, this screen shot should help. Click on the image to open it in a larger view.
You’ll see that text entry window is no more difficult then composing an email, the usual text formatting and spell check buttons are all there. On the right hand side of that window you’ll see a little check box corresponding to the various TSO cities as well as some other potential categories. You simply check the boxes that best describe your article and it will be filed accordingly.
Also, when things pick up. Visiters may find it handy to use the Category Filter on the right to only show posts that are related to the cities that they are interested in!
Now I just need for someone other than myself to post an article… I know there’s a few of you who have access to do so.. c’mon now.. don’t be shy! ![]()

Yep, it happens all the time! You start dating and everything is all lovey dovey and roses. You get married and for a little while things are just great with your dream girl. But give it a 100 days or so after you’ve first met and you find out her mouth is the bullhorn that can be heard through out all the land!
But if your me and your trying to get a website off the ground, that’s a good thing!!!! (had to make that bold, hopefully she’ll catch that line before she has Gen bring her cannon over!
But seriously.. A big thank you goes out to my wonderful wife Paulina who has made me a very happy sim at Life Unscripted in Mount Fuji for the past hundred days or so and had been absolutely instrumental in getting word out about this site! I barely had the frame work published last night and today my inbox is loaded with notifications of new users sign in up.
Of course I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to all my friends in my home town of Mount Fuji as well as all the other TSO cities in which my faithful Buddha Bots roam.
At this time I want to officially extend an open invitation to all established DJ’s, Homeowners and Roomies that are interested in having access to post new articles on this site. Though I’m really looking for people to come on board and post about gossip and spill the beans on who’s dip-kissing who, it would also be great to spread the word about all the great parties that everyone has been throwing! Of course you know that everyone is going to comment on your announcement after the event to tell the world what it was really like!
So once you have created a free (always free) account by clicking the register button, drop me an email (pfmonaco@gmail.com) to let me know your user name and that you’d like to post articles here. If I don’t know you, please tell me where I can find you in TSO… city & house name. Though I want to be as liberal as possible in allowing people to write, I do want to maintain some quality controls and make sure we have experienced players.
If you’ve peeked at the “rules” pages (link on the right) you’ll see that we really don’t have any. Just use your judgement when posting. Obviously if you post that you’re having a party every hour, it’s not cool. But I don’t really want to have to think about just how often is okay.
So let’s have fun!!!! See you all online!

I’ve had the idea of creating a TSO online newspaper from the very first time I logged into the game but at that point I just wasn’t sure if I’d every have the content or the interest to pursue it. But as time went on I began posting more and more about The Sims Online in my personal blog and decided that now is the time to get the ball rolling.
As with any new website, blog or avatar..
. coming up with an appropriate name is always a challenge. After throwing many ideas around the one that seemed to stick the most in my head (well actually 2nd most.. I was really in love with calling it TSOeoeo but apparently I was the only one that really got it).. anyways… after all was said and done Cliff Cuningham of Mount Fuji came up with the idea of calling it the TSO Star News. Thank you very much Cliff and I’d like to add that Cliff has been a wonderful addition to the Mount Fuji family!
So Now What?
Good question! No.. I do have a plan rattling around in my head. First order of business is to continue tweaking out the technical aspects of this site which you should see happening fairly rapidly. As that is being done, I will also be working on the administration and workflow of this site. Currently only registered members can comment on posts, this will allow for some control should things get heated. I will do my best not to over-administer things as that’s a sure fire way to take the fun out of it. I’ll worry about rules and policies as events deem them necessary. BTW - Registration is free, there’s a link on the top of the page. You’ll just need a valid email address.
All that leaves is content! Well.. you don’t really expect me to write everything, do you? Now I can’t just open the doors to a free-for-all and allow everyone to create new articles but everyone is encouraged to post comments. I will be looking for contributing writers very soon once I figure out the best plan for implementing it. If you’d like to toss your name into the hat early, drop me a line (pfmonaco@gmail.com) to express you interest. Be sure to tell me a little about yourself and what things you’d like to write.
Also.. comments and suggestions are always welcome!!!! Thank you for giving me this opportunity!
